Bunkers and Drainage

Bunker sand has been added to 16 of the 17 bunkers. We use a blend of silica sand and Panamint Valley crushed limestone, which is mined in Inyo County. The limestone gives the sand its beautiful white color, which has brightened up the bunkers and made them exceptionally playable. This type of blend is also used on many tour courses.

Since we have very small, pot-style bunkers, they are all raked using the Australian method, a circular fashion started from the middle adding a clean look to the bunkers .

Additionally, an irrigation ditch was installed, connecting the native area through a French drain that runs across hole #4 and Hole #6 . Now affectionately known as "Ray Ray's Creek," it has significantly helped alleviate much of the runoff. This was installed in April of 2025 at the start of the process to alleviate flooding.

Putting Greens

On April 2nd, 2025, we seeded our 10 small greens with over 240 million Bentgrass seeds, specifically Tee2Green Crystal Bluelinks. Additionally, after hollow-core aerification, we crushed the cores to reintroduce any available Poa annua seed heads and topdressed with USGA premium sand. The greens will initially be cut to 0.250 inches and gradually reduced to 0.140 inches after establishment.

Approaches, collars, and select tees are being seeded with a Kentucky bluegrass/rye blend or Majestic Bermuda while the areas around the bunker edges will feature a blend of bluegrass, rye, and fescue. Bermuda has a better tolerance for summer play/heat while the Rye/Blue tees should hold up better in the winter cold.

Our most fractured greens—holes #1, #6, and #8—will take quite a bit longer to rehabilitate but can be restored through time and effort.

Irrigation improvements are underway to enhance coverage and address leaks.
